ISS FM Sweden keeps track of its organization

The balanced scorecard (BSC) is a strategic performance tool. Traditionally, it is a perfect instrument for managers to keep track of their staff’s activities. You can monitor the execution of activities of staff and the consequences arising from these actions. ISS FM in Sweden uses the BSC to keep track of the different parts of the organization.

This concerns following domains:

  • Economically;
  • Continuous improvements;
  • Employee figures;
  • Customer figures.

What is the goal?
The goal is to have an easy way to present a mixture of measures each compared to a target value within a single report. It offers a compact summary capturing the most relevant information for its readers.

For all levels of the organization, reports are automatically generated. The reports visualize the changes in the organization and allow steering according the goals defined.

How?
The BSC is a semi – standard structured report supported by proven methods and automation tools. In more complex organisations, where there are multiple Balanced Scorecards to report and/or a need for co-ordination of results between Balanced Scorecards the use of individual Balanced Scorecard reporters can be problematic. myMCS automates the production and distribution of these reports.

Every month, a questionnaire, run as a campaign in myMCS Quality Management, is send to every department responsible at ISS Facility Management in Sweden. These questionnaires are filled out and a report (myMCS Flexible Reporting) will automatically make the necessary calculations without anyone having to intervene, saving precious time and money. This report is then send back to the different recipients throughout all levels. MCS has developed the software (universe) as such making it possible to report not only on department level, but also on contract or cost center level.

As a start-up, one questionnaire was used for all departments, but currently they are working on unique questionnaires for every contract, running in parallel, enabling every contract or division responsible to make their own customized questions offering even more advantages without additional work.

Why?
ISS Sweden chose myMCS because of its flexibility and the possibility to create as many reports as they wish. The questionnaire is created once, questions are answered online and the reporting is done automatically. Furthermore, it was possible for ISS to do this exactly how they wanted it.

Thanks to the visibility on all levels, ISS Sweden creates ever more customer awareness, service awareness and quality awareness throughout the entire organization.
